The patient was brought to the operating room and MAC was initiated. The patient was then prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion in the dorsal lithotomy position with candy cane stirrups. The time out safety protocol was called out by the surgeon and affirmed by all personnel present. Wet towels were positioned around the operative field to avoid peripheral laser issues. The CO2 laser was then tested to confirme appropriate power settings and spot size of between 2 and 4mm. The condylomas were then ablated in the usual fashion. Wet sponges were used to removed ablated tissue and confirm adequate removal without excess skin depth. Good hemostasis was confirmed. Silvidine cream was applied to the areas of ablation.
The patient was then brought out of anesthesia, and transferred to the recovery room in excellent condition. She was given detailed discharge instructions and plans for follow up.
