The patient was brought to the operating room and general endotracheal was initiated. The patient was then prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion. The time out safety protocol was called out by the surgeon and affirmed by all personnel present. Xylocaine with epinephrine was injected. The hysteroscope was performed to delineate the extent of the endocervical polyp. A scalpel and/or scissors was used to excise the polyp with the aid of polyp forceps. Sharp curettage was performed. Ball electrocautery was then used for hemostasis.
The patient was then brought out of anesthesia, and transferred to the recovery room in excellent condition.
